The story was a mess. If the writers stuck with a simple revenge story then Jonah Hex could have been better. I know this is based on a comic book and they wanted it to be epic by putting the hero in a situation where he could save the world. Maybe it was impressive on paper but it didn’t look good on screen.

And there were sequences that had Hex ride at night. I had trouble discerning what was happening on the screen during those moments. The actions during those moments were confusing to say the least. And my eyes were strained because of these scenes.

Jonah Hex (Josh Brolin): Christ, woman, how many men you seeing today?

Good thing Megan Fox is there to provide eye candy. She’s easy to the eyes but I can’t say the same with regards to her acting. It was good at first but then she returned to her emotionless self as the movie progressed. Anyway she’s there not for her acting prowess anyway.

I would have said it outright that Jonah Hex was a bad movie if not for the Steampunk props and Megan Fox. It was all about eye candy without the substance. Watch it at your own risk.

And I was right. Jennifer’s Body tried to be a funny horror movie but ended up trying too hard at both ends of the poles. It was neither scary nor funny. It tried to be clever but failed miserably. There’s nothing underneath the covers.

I wonder who sacrificed a virgin to think that a movie such as Jennifer’s Body can be entertaining as long as Megan Fox is in it. Maybe teenage boys will enjoy a naked Fox swimming in a lake and forget about everything else but not me. I feel bad for Amanda Seyfried who I think did a good job even though the script was bad.

Jennifer Check (Megan Fox): I am scrumptious!

Don’t try to look for substance in Jennifer’s Body. It’s all about Megan Fox and nothing else. Fans are gifted with a short lesbian scene but don’t get too excited by it. Like anything else in the movie, it is a let-down.

I loved Diablo Cody’s Juno and I expected Jennifer’s Body to be just as good but it turned out to be a big disappointment. Megan Fox has a hot body and that’s all you get to see in this movie. Her acting is mediocre and Amanda Seyfried couldn’t save it from being a disaster.

First of all, I think most of Sam’s (Shia LeBeouf)  college scenes were irrelevant and could have been compressed to cut the viewing time. Although it was funny how Sam’s mom made a fool of herself, it didn’t contribute to the plot.

Another thing that got to my nerves is that Transformers 2 featured generic Decepticons. Aside from Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave, Fallen, Devastator, and the Insecticons, the other Decepticons looked alike and you can’t tell one apart from the other. There was even a girl robot that reminded me of Kristanna Loken’s T-X of Terminator 3.

The epic battle in the end didn’t feel like it is a Transformers movie. I thought someone switched the channel to G.I. Joe. I was just waiting for Major Lennox (Josh Duhanel) or Sergeant Epps (Tyrese Gibson) to shout “Yo Joe!”

Sam Witwicky (Shia LeBeouf): You gotta be kidding me…

But not everything about Revenge of the Fallen is bad. The CGI is good and believable. It is a very good action movie. Another plus for the movie is Megan Fox. Michael Bay must have been mesmerized with her “beauty”. There were slo-mo sequences to showcase her assets. She can forget about being an actress and stick to modeling.

I still haven’t forgiven the producers for making Bumblebee into a Camaro and this sequel didn’t do anything to satiate the hatred. Like what I said above, Revenge of the Fallen is an entertaining action movie but it is a weak Transformers flick. I guess nothing can beat the classic animated movie.
