It featured an all-star cast led by Morgan Freeman as Dr. Cameron McCarthy, the prosthetic maker; Ashley Judd as Sawyer’s mother; Harry Connick Jr. as Dr. Clay, the head of the Marine Hospital; and Kris Kristofferson as Clay’s dad. I’m an Ashley Judd fanboy but I’m sorry to say that she and the rest of the humans were outperformed by Rufus the mischievous Pelican. He provided the comic relief to the movie and stole the limelight whenever he’s part of the scene.

But the true star of the show is Winter. She is an inspiration for everyone. She showed that anyone can overcome obstacles that come one’s way. Dolphin Tale also teaches us that we should not judge anyone because of their looks. And lastly, it tells us that family is forever.

Hazel Haskett (Cozi Zuehlsdorff): What does your dad do?
Sawyer Nelson (Nathan Gamble): I don’t know. He left like 5 years ago. We don’t know where he is. He never calls, never writes.
Hazel: Oh.
Sawyer: So what does your mom do?
Hazel: She died when I was 7. Never calls, never writes.

Awesome inspirational movie that’s full of emotions. If you were not touched by Winter then you don’t have a heart. It is better than Flipper and Free Willy combined. This is a must-see for the whole family. Be sure to have a tissue box beside you while watching the movie.

While most people would probably watch Ramona and Beezus for Selena Gomez, the star of the show is definitely Joey King. Everything revolved around Ramona and Joey King managed to deliver a near perfect performance. Plus, she’s so adorable. I want to have a daughter just like her.

The rest of the cast have done a good job as well. John Corbett and Bridget Moynahan played Mr. and Mrs. Quimby. Then there’s Josh Duhamel as Hobart, who is Aunt Bea’s love. Aunt Bea is played by Ginnifer Goodwin. Sandra Oh starred as Ramona’s teacher. The one person I disliked from the movie is Seth Rogen, who played the music teacher.

Beezus (Selena Gomez): Who could ever love someone named Beezus?
Ramona (Joey King): Jesus?

Well, I love Ramona and Beezus. It is the best modern movie for kids that I’ve seen recently. It’s just a bonus that Selena Gomez is in this one. It goes to show that you don’t need to have sex and violence to make a movie enjoyable. This should be one of the films to watch during your next family movie night.

Remember when they say to be careful what you wished for. Well Wizards of Waverly Place incorporated this in their storyline. Alex (Selena Gomez) wished that their parents haven’t met and it came through. Now Alex and her brothers Max (Jake T. Austin) and Justin (David Henrie) must find a way to break the wish before they disappear.

Yes, it’s pretty much like in Back to the Future where Marty McFly must play matchmaker to his parent and make them fall in love before he disappears from existence. But in Wizards of Waverly Place, they managed to make do with the premise and kept it fresh.

Another nice thing about Wizards of Waverly Place is that it is funny without trying hard like the rest of the new DCOMs. It was fun to see the parents, Jerry (David DeLuise) and Theresa (Maria Canals-Barrera), act like real parents and the chemistry between them and their reel-children was good.

Alex Russo (Selena Gomez): Javier, why don’t you go find someone else who doesn’t have their mom watching out for them? Yeah, kay bye!

But the star of the show is definitely Selena Gomez. She proves to us that she’s not just a pretty face but a good actress too. As Alex, she caused trouble being the rebellious middle child. They need to find the Stone of Dreams to undo the wish. But it was not easy because there are other wizards looking for it as well.

To be honest I haven’t seen all of the Wizards of Waverly Place episodes before I saw the movie but it doesn’t matter. The movie stood alone and can appeal to anyone, even to thirty year old guys like me. I would wish other DCOMs to disappear from existence but not this one.

It might have Alice in the title but the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp) stole the show, especially when he did his futterwack dance. I thought the Jabberwocky (Christopher Lee) would get up and join him, JabbaWockeeZ-style.

The Red Queen (Helena Bonham Carter) was impressive as well and I love how she says “Off with her head”. The White Queen (Anne Hathaway) felt like she was trying to impersonate Jack Sparrow. There’s a funny scene where she’s making a potion made out of nasty stuff, such as butter fingers and urine.

The CGI characters were believable and props should be given to the voices behind Tweedledee and Tweedledum (Matt Lucas), Cheshire Cat (Stephen Fry), White Rabbit (Michael Sheen), Blue Caterpillar (Alan Rickman) and Dormouse (Barbara Windsor).

Alice (Mia Wasikowska): Yes you’re crazy, you’re loony and bonkers but you know they say all the best people are a bit mad.

People are saying that Mia Wasikowska is the wrong Alice but I beg to disagree with them. She’s just right for the job. Alice didn’t want to believe that she’s destined for greatness but once she found her inner strength, she managed to slay the monster to save Wonderland and face her real life problems as well.

The 3D effects might be way below Avatar but Alice in Wonderland is still entertaining. I expected it to be a little trippier and this is my only complaint about the movie. Tim Burton painted a beautiful masterpiece with an uncomplicated plot behind it. Interesting is the right word to describe the movie. There was no boring moment at all. If given the chance, I would go back down the rabbit hole to watch it again.

Troy (Zac Efron), Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens), Sharpay (Ashley Tisdale), Ryan (Lucas Gabriel), Chad (Corbin Bleu) and the rest of the gang are back. This time around Troy must choose between colleges. Both options mean he has to spend time away from Gabriella. That’s just one of the dilemmas that the characters are facing in their Senior Year.

High School Musical 3 didn’t need high budget CGI to bring us to a parallel universe where a gay jock can get a hot girlfriend, balancing his time between basketball and theater while making big decisions in his life. Disney knows how to please their tween audiences. Maybe that’s why I didn’t get it because I’m just too old for this crap.

Troy Bolton (Zac Efron): East High is a place where teachers encouraged us to break the status quo and define ourselves as we choose. Where a jock can cook up a mean crème brulee, and a brainiac can break it down on the dance floor. It’s a place where one person, if it’s the right person, changes us all. East High is having friends we’ll keep for the rest of our lives, and that means we really are ‘all in this together’. Once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat!

East High is just a make-believe school and it doesn’t exist in real life. This movie gives kids the wrong impressions that such a place exists. High School Musical 3: Senior Year was made by Disney so that fans of the franchise will buy more merchandise. Hopefully this is the end and there’s no College Musical in the future.

I don’t get it. Miley Cyrus can’t act to save her life and her singing is not that good but she somehow captivated the kids.  Oh well, if they could be singing along with a purple dinosaur, then a country girl with distracting front teeth should not be a surprise.

Hannah Montana: The Movie showcases Miley’s musical talent.  The Hoedown Throwdown was interesting with catchy dance and The Climb can give you an LSS.  (It’s the climb…)  That monotonic line kept playing in my head.  Taylor Swift performed Crazier and brought the much needed break from all the noise.

Emily Osment was adorable as Miley’s best friend Lilly.  I wished she had more screen time but it is obvious that the movie is about Hannah Montana.  Vanessa Williams plays Vita, Miley’s agent.  Tyra Banks had a cameo role that provided some much needed laughter.

Hannah Montana (Miley Cyrus): The last time I was on this stage i was 6, I was… Miley. And I still am.

Just like any Disney movie, Hannah Montana: The Movie has a happy ending.  Miley revealed that she was Hannah Montana but the townsfolk promised to keep it a secret.  A reporter was there and was going to expose it but Vita invited his two daughters to the show and he saw how much Hannah Montana means to them.  Then he quit his job.

If you want to bond with your little ones then go watch Hannah Montana: The Movie with them.  It is a light comedy that can keep them occupied for some time.  Just be sure to bring something to keep yourself entertained, like a Nintendo DS perhaps.

The plot of Princess Protection Program is too predictable.  The audience is like a bunch of fortune tellers that can tell what will happen next.   There are no surprises in this one.  But that doesn’t mean that the movie is boring.   In contrast, you won’t know how much time has passed by.

Demi Lovato might be the princess of the movie but Selena Gomez is definitely the star in this one.  Her cuteness level in Princess Protection Program is more than 100%.  She’s growing up to be a fine actress as well.  Hope she gets more challenging roles in the future that can showcase her acting skills.

Princess Protection Program knows that their target audiences are young girls who adore Disney princesses.  The movie paid homage to the Disney princesses with the gowns inspired by Belle and Cinderella.  You might get the feeling that this is another Cinderella movie.  It’s full movie duration is one hour and a half and it’s pure fun for the whole family.
