Unoriginal. Yes, we’ve already seen the story before. It is part iRobot and part Enemy of the State but that doesn’t mean that you must not watch Eagle Eye. For 118 minutes the movie suspends reality for a while and lets you live the lives of two strangers (Shia LeBeouf and Michelle Monaghan) who have been selected by a computer for a mission that can change the history of the strongest country in the world.

Steven Spielberg and D.J. Caruso, the team behind last year’s Disturbia, give us an entertaining thriller that will not bore you even for a second. Although the action is non-stop, there’s a sense of a story embedded in it. Eagle Eye goes from one chase scene to another yet we see a semblance of character development unlike some action films I’ve seen recently.

I’m not a fan of LeBeouf but I have to give him credit for his performance in this one. Actually everyone in the film should be commended and that includes Billy Bob Thornton and Rosario Dawson.

Agent Thomas Morgan (Billy Bob Thornton): If you’re staring at me, it better be because I’m the suspect. If not, get back to work or I swear you’re all demoted to something that involves touching shit with your hands!

The plot was a suspect but at least they redeemed it with good performances and great direction. The stars and crew would not be touching any shit any time soon.

Turns out A.R.I.A. runs the show and is out to assassinate the entire cabinet because of one mistake they committed. Jerry’s twin Ethan found out about this and that’s the reason why he was killed. Jerry stopped the attempt and all ends well.
