Dream is Korean sports drama series about Nam Je Il (Joo Jin Mo), a successful sports agent. He reminded me of Tom Cruise in Jerry McGuire but he has the charisma of Sly Stallone. During the course of the series, he got into his boss’ bad side and got fired. His reputation is in ruins because of a malicious rumor spread by his former boss.

Things picked up for Agent Nam when he met the ex-convict Lee Jang Suk (Kim Bum). Agent Nam finds inner peace as he tries his best to turn him into a champion MMA fighter. Every fighter needs a trainer and here’s where Park So-yeon (Son Dam Bi) comes into the picture.

I must confess that I watched Dream because of Son Dam-bi but the story kept me interested week after week. Guys like me would love the MMA action sequences in the series. For the girls, aside from Kim Bum, there are several eye-candies to choose from.

The Dream ending definitely surprised me. Sports dramas usually end with the star reaching his goal. But in Dream Kim Bum failed to reunite with his mom or become the champion although both goals are within his reach. He saw his mom with her new family and he could have won the championship match if his dad didn’t die.

Dream was an entertaining series and it will be shown in the Philippines soon. Speaking of the Philippines, I took one week off from this blog to help the victims of Typhoon Ondoy. Dreams were shattered but hopefully everyone will recover soon.
