I Love You, Man is not your typical romantic comedy. It’s about Peter (Paul Rudd) who has no guy friends and has to find one to be the best man for his wedding. I’m a guy and I don’t know any guy that doesn’t have a guy friend. Even gays have guy friends.

Peter went on “guy dates” to find the perfect guy for him but he can’t find his soul mate until he met Sydney Fife (Jason Segel). They immediately click with each other as if they were meant to be together forever and that’s what I don’t like about I Love You, Man.

I thought Bride Wars would be good with Anne Hot-away and Kate Hudson in it but it failed to entertain me. It’s too bad because the two lead stars did have the chemistry that made me believe that they are best friends in real life.

But I just don’t get the story. How can two friends fight over a trivial thing such as a wedding date? And would it be nicer for both of them to celebrate that momentous date together? Now after watching He’s Not Just That Into You and Bride Wars, I’m starting to think that women are real stupid and shallow. Why do chick flicks portray girls this way anyway? I know for a fact that true friends would rather support each other instead of fighting with one another.

My first impression of He’s Just Not That Into You is not good. But I still managed to finish the movie (in two sittings) because some of my friends wanted me to write something about it. To be honest, it bored me to death even with Drew Barrymore and Scarlett Johansson as part of the star-studded cast. Other stars include Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Connelly, and Justin Long.

The characters in He’s Just Not That Into You are interconnected with each other and show various types of relationships. But it failed to impress me. Maybe because I’m a guy and this movie a major chick flick. I do enjoy romantic comedies but this one will belong to my worst list.
