So what if Avatar is the live action version of Pocahontas? It doesn’t change the fact that it’s the best movie that came out in 2009. I watched Avatar in IMAX 3D and it’s by far the best movie experience I ever had, ever! James Cameron outdid himself with this one.

Avatar immerses its audience into Pandora, a planet that reminds me of World of Warcraft’s Zangarmarsh and Nagrand. The visuals are on the league of their own. Everything seems believable, down to the tiniest detail. The fauna and flora of the planet and the blue Na’vis were true-to-life that you’ll forget that you’re watching a fake planet.

There were times that Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) reminded me more of Jar Jar Binks than Pocahontas. But overall the actors did a good job. Special mention goes to Sam Worthington as Jake Sully, and Sigourney Weaver as Doc Grace Augustine. Giovanni Ribisi as Parker the greedy corporate guy was forgettable but his role is still essential for the whole story. Michelle Rodriguez provided the eye candy for us guys who are getting tired of seeing the blue boobies on-screen.

Col. Quaritch (Stephen Lang): Gives me the goosebumps!

Avatar gave me goosebumps as well. It was the first ever IMAX 3D movie that didn’t give me a headache after. It’s the type of movie where in the specials effects outperform the human factor of the movie but I’m not complaining. Someone should promote James Cameron from being the King of the World to The Emperor of the Universe.
