The Ice Age franchise continues to be appealing to audiences of all ages with Dawn of the Dinosaurs, the third installation of the series. This time around, Manny (Ray Romano) and Ellie (Queen Latifah) are expecting their first offspring. Manny is nervous about becoming a first time dad.

Diego (Denis Leary) is worried that he’s losing his killer instincts and tries to become an intimidating saber tooth again. Ice Age is not complete without Sid. This time he also wants to have his own babies and decided to adopt a bunch of dinosaur eggs. And here’s how all the misfortunate series of events started to unfold.

I’m not surprised that Coraline is nominated for Best Animated Feature Film in this year’s Oscars. I’ve seen the other nominee Up and Coraline is definitely different from it. Up is a light adventure story while Coraline is a heavy horror movie.

Grownups should watch Coraline with the young ones because some kids might be disturbed from what they are about to see. It is based on a novel by Neil Gaiman, which has won the 2002 Bram Stoker Award for Best Work for Young Readers. Dakota Fanning lends her voice to the title role and Teri Hatcher as her mom.

Being an old fan of Astro Boy, I had my reservations with regards to this new remake.  I was able to watch it a day before my four-day vacation.  And it was time well spent.  My only wish was that the first part of the movie was more upbeat.
