Jeremy goes to Dublin for a business trip and Anna decides to meet him there. She wants to propose to him in accordance with an old Irish tradition that allows women to propose only on leap years. But instead of landing in Dublin, her plane was forced to land in Wales because of bad weather. She couldn’t get a connecting flight to Dublin, so she decides to go on a supply ship only to disembark in Dingle due to the storm.

In Dingle, Anna checks into the only inn in town that is owned by Declan. She hires Declan to take her to Dublin. He accepted the offer because he needs the money to save his inn. As in any romantic comedies, the predictable happened. She left her good-for-nothing boyfriend for a stranger she just met.

Bride: May you never steal, lie, or cheat, but if you must steal, then steal away my sorrows, and if you must lie, lie with me all the nights of my life, and if you must cheat, then please cheat death because I couldn’t live a day without you. Cheers!

But I must say that the chemistry between Matthew Goode and Amy Adams is good and it provided several funny moments. I’m a big Amy Adams fan and she made this movie less boring for me. I have mixed feelings about Leap Year. There’s a part of me that enjoyed it because of Amy and a part of me that was bored of its ridiculous plot.

Also back for the sequel are Owen Wilson as Jedediah Smith, Robin Williams as Teddy Roosevelt, Mizuo Peck as Sacajawea, and Steve Coogan as Octavius.  Also featured in the movie are Hank Azaria as Kahmunrah/Abe Lincoln/The Thinker, Amy Adams as Amelia Earhart, Christopher Guest as Ivan the Terrible, Alain Chabat as Napoleon Bonaparte, Jon Bernthal as Al Capone, and Patrick Gallagher as Attila the Hun.

Larry finds out that the Museum of Natural History is being closed for renovation and the museum pieces are being moved for storage at the Smithsonian.  Then he gets a call from Jedediah and found out that Dexter the monkey stole the tablet and now the Evil Pharaoh Kahmunrah is after it.  Larry must now go into the Smithsonian and save the day (or night as in this case) again.

Critics are bashing Night at the Museum 2 because they say the magic and the essence of the movie was already lost.  Some say that the story felt unreal.  Well if they can make inanimate objects come to life in the night then I’ll agree with them.

Jedediah (Owen Wilson): Two words come to mind when I hear you speak, weird and delusional.  And If I had to pick a third… goofy.  Just plain goofy.

I enjoyed Battle of the Smithsonian. Jedediah and Octavius are still hilarious.  There was a scene where they went Rambo against bigger opponents and it made me LOL in real life.  The addition of Amy Adams was just icing to the cake.  Her portrayal of Amelia Earhart was perfect and believable.  Although I still can’t figure out how she managed to go back to Smithsonian after bringing Larry and the rest of the gang back at the Museum of Natural History.

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian is entertaining.  The humor was okay, the musical score hits the right notes, and the special effects were excellent.  I’ve never been a fan of Ben Stiller but I would recommend this for the whole family.
