Last October 6, Pearl Jam’s concert at the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles became the site of a special show for those who miss 90s music like me. During the second to the last song of the night, Pearl Jam brought to the stage Chris Cornell for a surprise Temple of the Dogs reunion.
It is the first time since 2003 since Cornell, Matt Cameron, Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament, Mike McCready and Eddie Vedder have been on one stage. They performed the Temple of the Dog song Hunger Strike.
Finally the music video of Higante has premiered in local TV. This is a collaboration of two Philippine music scene giants, namely Ely Buendia and the late Francis M. It comes from the upcoming album In Love and War (ILAW), which will be released on October 5.
Paramore visited Radio 1’s Live Lounge last September 4 and they performed their latest single, Ignorance, from their upcoming album Brand New Eyes. Here’s the video of their performance. Enjoy!
Silversun Pickups performed a MTV Unplugged set last month but it is only tonight that I’ve stumbled upon it after randomly browsing through the MTV web site. In case you are not familiar with them, Silversun Pickups is an indie band from L.A. that consists of Brian Aubert (guitar/vocals), Nikki Monninger (bass/vocals), Christopher Guanlao (drums) and Joe Lester (keyboards). They have already released an EP (Pikul, 2005) and two full albums (Carnavas, 2006 and Swoon, 2009).
If I’m asked to choose just one song from Silversun Pickups then that would be Lazy Eye. That song got me hooked on the band. Well here’s Silversun Pickups performing Lazy Eye for MTV Unplugged.
I watched Marie’ Digby’s concert at the NBC Tent and enjoyed it. I thought I would not make it in time because of the traffic caused by the heavy rains but I was surprised that it only took us 30 minutes to get to Fort Bonifacio from Mall of Asia.
I forgot to write down the set list because I was mesmerized by Marie’s beauty and talent. Anyway here’s a fancam while she’s singing Say It Again. I couldn’t focus on her because people were standing up! But it’s all good
Limp Bizkit played to a massive audience during the Rock AM Ring 2009 in Germany last Sunday. The Red Cap is back with the rest of the original crew, including prodigal guitarist Wes Borland. This must be the year of comebacks.
Borland has this to say about Durst:
“We said that we’re sorry about things in the past but didn’t really get into specifics… I’ve eaten my words a lot when it comes to our relationship. I ended up realizing that I’ve been an ass in a lot of ways and I sort of put all the blame on (Fred) in the past.”
While here’s Limp Bizkit opening their performance with My Generation. This gave me goosebumps. I wish I was part of the crowd.
This is a new Travis Barker remix. The video shows Barker doing Eminem’s 3AM. Again he gave a hip-hop song some rock and roll feel. I like! It’s good to see that he’s fully healed from the airplane accident. I’m still waiting for the next Blink 182 album.
