Transformers on the Bad Side of the Moon

Michael Bay really knows how to rape my childhood. He did it thrice with the Transformers franchise. Transformers: Dark of the Moon is a complete mess. Its plot has too much holes and unnecessary stuff in it.

Sam Witwicky (Shia LeBeouf) is back to irritate us in this third installation of the Transformers franchise. Just like in the previous movies, he managed to help the Autobots defeat the Decepticons. And just like before, he is the center of the story instead of the robots. There is one point in the movie that Sam became Spider-Man.

Megan Fox is replaced by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley as the movie’s eye candy. I got no complaints about her because as Carly, she provided the temporary distraction for the lack of a coherent plot in Transformers: Dark of the Moon. As for Sam and Carly, they don’t have any chemistry even if you left them alone in a lab. And I think the cheesy scene in the end was pointless.

Michael Bay knows one thing best and that is special effects. Transformers: Dark of the Moon has spectacular action sequences and I give kudos to the director for those moments. But everything else can be disregarded.

Optimus Prime: You have made a grave mistake…

I really hope that there’s no Transformers 4 movie in the future. Michael Bay is said to be doing a Teenage Alien Ninja Turtles movie, which I hope that doesn’t push through. Please Michael Bay, listen to the fans and leave our childhood memories untouched.
