The Expendables is exactly what I expected it to be. It is action, explosions, and one-liners from start to finish. The ensemble cast of action superstars includes Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Steve Austin, and Mickey Rourke. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis had cameo roles in the movie. It could have been better if Jackie Chan is part of the movie, even for just a second.
Don’t look for an award winning plot from The Expendables. It’s just about a group of elite mercenaries out to fulfill a suicidal mission. It’s that simple and yet I enjoyed it a lot. It is fun to see all the old action heroes in a movie.
Charisma Carpenter is my only eye candy in The Expendable She has been one of my Hollywood crushes since she appeared in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. In this movie she plays the girlfriend of Jason Statham’s character who dumps him for someone else.
James Munroe (Eric Roberts): And being wealthy is very good. It allows people to be the real asswipes nature intended them to be.
If you’re a fan of 80’s action flicks like I do, then you should watch The Expendables. The good news is that a sequel is already on the way and it adds Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme into the mix. I hope there’s a part 3 and they could sign up Jackie Chan for it.
