Choi Siwon of Super Junior stars in Oh! My Lady, a Korean drama about a successful young actor Sung Min-woo, whose life has turned upside down when a kid was left in his care. It turns out that the kid is his daughter and he tries to hide her existence or else his career will be ruined.

Chae Rim plays Yoon Gae-hwa, a divorcee who got a job in a musical production company. She learned about Min-woo’s daughter and used it to blackmail him into joining the company’s musical. Oh! My Lady does sound like Speedy Scandal but the premise of a scandal breaking out is the only similarity this drama has with the blockbuster movie.
Oh! My Lady focused on how Min Woo had to deal with an instant daughter and a manager who is taking advantage of his weaknesses. On her part, Gae Hwa had to work part-time as Min Woo’s helper/nanny to make her financial state more stable for her own daughter as well.
As to how a successful actor and an older, blue-collar woman fall in love might be illogical in the real world but the writers managed to make it believable in Oh! My Lady. And to complicate things more, the company president, Yoo Shi Joon (Lee Hyeon Woo) started to fall for Gae-hwa. Hong Yoo Ra (Park Han Byul) also tried to get Min Woo for herself. By the way, I just want to say that Se7en is lucky to have her as his real life girlfriend.

Just like in Speedy Scandal, the kids in Oh! My Lady are oozing with cuteness. Playing Min Woo’s daughter Ye Eun is Kim Yoo Bin while Bang Joon Seo stars as Gae Hwa’s smart daughter. This is the second time I’ve seen Joon Seo in a drama. The first one was when she played as Yunho’s sister in No Limit/Heading to the Ground.
Up until the last episode, the love triangle of Gae Hwa/Min Woo/Shi Joon is still unresolved and the ending was unpredictable. Well, it ended with Gae Hwa and Min Woo sharing a romantic kiss. The president and his wife separated but I do hope that they get back together again.

Oh! My Lady ended with no antagonist left. Everyone turned good, even the stalker reporter who wrote a good article raving about Min Woo’s performance in the musical. It is a feel good drama series that can be enjoyed by everyone. Siwon fans would not be disappointed about this one.
