I watched Crank: High Voltage while waiting to board my plane and I must say that the movie made time fly by so fast in a good way. If you enjoyed the first Crank then you’ll definitely love this one as well. Jason Statham is back as Chev Chelios.
Also back for the second time around are Dwight Yoakam as Doc Miles and Amy Smart as Eve Lydon. Efren Ramirez is also back but this time he’s playing the role of the brother of his Crank 1 character. If you haven’t seen the first Crank movie, I suggest that you watch that first before even thinking of seeing High Voltage. It will save you from being clueless about from the first movie.
For those who seen Crank and haven’t seen High Voltage yet, you’re in for a real treat. If you think that Chelios and Eve were nasty during the first one, then you’ll be surprised how they upped their performance for the sequel. Let’s just say that it involved horses, cowboy, and a wheelbarrow.
Doc Miles (Dwight Yoakam): Confucius say, “Karma’s a bitch”.
Chelios survived the Chinese poison and falling from a helicopter, so it’s not a surprise that he can stay alive walking around, beating up bad guys without a heart. He needs High Voltage to stay alive and hunt down the guy who has his heart.
Crank: High Voltage has everything a guy would want from a movie. It was hilarious, with gory action scenes, and even paid homage to Japanese monster movies. Chester Bennington of Linkin Park and Geri Halliwell had cameos in the movie. Kudos to Jason Statham for doing the sequel and hopefully there’s a third one in the near future.
