This review is long overdue. Twilight the movie is based on the book written by Stephenie Meyer. It is the first from the Twilight Saga. New Moon, the next movie of the series will be released later this year. It’s about the love affair of Bella (Kristen Stewart) and the vampire Edward (Robert Pattinson). The two are perfect for the roles given to them.
Twilight is obviously made for all the teenage fangirls with all the cheesy scenes and dialogues. Not everything from the book made it to the big screen version but the director’s interpretation of the story is acceptable.
Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson): You are my life now.
Bella might be his life now but some girls I know are saying this about Edward after watching Twilight. They say it was everything they imagined it to be. But for us guys, Twilight could have improved on the special effects department. The fight scene between James and Edward in the dance studio was tight and it is probably the most interesting moment of the movie for me.
The Cullens made the book entertaining but in the Twilight movie they stayed in the background. I hope that in the New Moon movie they are given more line and screen time. I want to see more of Alice (Ashley Greene) and Rosalie (Nikki Reed).
Twilight is not bad but it could have been better. I would not recommend this movie for those unfamiliar with the Twilight books. They might not understand what’s going on in the movie. It has an unorthodox take on the vampire genre.
