Pure love comes when you least expect it. It might sound too cliché but I believe in it. Hello Schoolgirl is a movie that tried and succeeded in showing that love knows no boundaries. The movie will surely ignite the hopeless romantic in you.
Hello Schoolgirl is about two guys and how each of them fought for the love of their lives. There’s Kang Sook (Kangin) who has just started working after graduating from high school. He falls for the older Kwon Ha Kyung (Chae Jeong An). Who can blame him, she has the cutest smile. Their tale could have been tragic because the older woman hasn’t gotten over a previous love. Will his persistence result in a happy ending? It’s still a constant struggle each day.
I could relate with the second guy in Hello Schoolgirl. 30 year old Kim Yun-woo (Yu Ji Tae) had his share of dates in his time but he hasn’t really found the one. Then he moved to a new home and met 18 year old Han Soo Young (Lee Yeon Hee). Their age gap is unacceptable to some and rumors started spreading about him. Soo Young’s mom tried to keep him away from her but their love is strong enough to make it through the obstacles.
The age difference should not be an issue when it comes to love. The girl is 18 anyway. If she’s a minor then that would be a difference case. Anyway true love can wait. If your true love crosses your way, grab it immediately.
I was surprised to see Kangin deliver a good performance and he could have found a career in acting when his days with Super Junior is over. SuJu is not the only pop group that’s represented in the movie. Choi Soo Young from SNSD plays the best friend of the high school girl. Yeon-hee and Soo Young are good friends in real life and this translated well on the big screen.
