Never Saw Daisy like This One

daisyI love daisies. We used to have some planted in the garden back at our old house. Then I learned that Jun Ji-Hyun of My Sassy Girl fame starred in a movie called Daisy. I told myself that I should watch this movie. And I did.

Daisy involves a love triangle when a cop and a hitman fall for the same woman. Lee Sung Jae as the cop and Jung Woo Sung as the hitman did well with their parts but Jun Ji-Hyun is the light of the movie. Just like the two men, you’ll yearn for her presence whenever she’s not part of the scene.

I find this funny but I was rooting for the bad guy all throughout the movie. But I knew that nothing good will happen once an assassin becomes too close with another person.

Story-wise, Daisy deserves five stars. The character development was excellent and you can really feel the flow of the story. Some say that the pace was a bit slow but I found it to be just right. I think every film buff will enjoy Daisy. It’s not your typical mushy love story but I wish the director chose a better ending.

*Spoiler*
The hitman couldn’t kill the cop but the cop was shot by another assassin. The hitman’s final job for his boss was to kill the cop’s boss. He couldn’t do it because the girl learned about it and intervened. The other assassin was about to shoot the hitman but the girl saw it at the last minute and acted as a shield. Girl died and the hitman went to his boss’ hideout and kill everyone in sight. In the end the hitman, the Daisy man, was face to face with his boss and they killed one another.
