Page 198 Obsession at the Heartbreak Library

The library might not be the typical setting for romance but Heartbreak Library is not your typical love story either. Librarian Eun Soo (Eugene) found Jun Oh (Lee Dong Wook) tearing up the page 198 of every book in the library. One thing led to another and Eun Soo found herself wanting to find out more about Jun Oh while she’s recovering from a broken heart as well.

This is not your usual romantic story wherein the two protagonists instantly fall in love with each other the second their eyes met. Director Kim Jeong Kwon weaves a nice tale of holding on and letting go; of living the past behind and making a new start.

There were parts in Heartbreak Library that were dragging but at least Eugene’s character was there and it was enough for me to stay interested with the movie. But overall, the message it tried to convey was clear and I loved it.

Eun Soo (Eugene): Why does love drive everyone crazy?

I really don’t know the answer to that one. But I know for a fact that Heartbreak Library is a must see, especially for those who recently had their hearts broken or trying to let go. The movie emits an aura of hope that makes the audience feel good once the end credit starts rolling.

*Spoiler*
Jun Oh and his girlfriend got into a car accident and she died on the spot. He recovered from the trauma and in the end, ended up with Eun Soo.
