Right from the first scene Death Bell gave me goose bumps. It’s about an unknown entity that trapped a bunch of elite high school students and made them solve puzzles in order to save their colleagues. The plot felt like Saw but with a few twists thrown in the mix.
Among the students are Yi-Na (Nam Gyu-ri) and Hyeon (Kim Bum). Along with the kids are two teachers, Chang Wook (Lee Beom-su) and Choi So-Yeong (Yung Jeong-heui). Yi-na realized that the students are killed according to their academic rankings. Although there were times that the movie became too cute to be scary, with a high school romance brewing between Kim Bum and Nam Gyu-ri. But overall Death Bell gives its audience enough gore and shock that would satisfy every Asian horror movie fans.
I would not be surprised that Death Bell is remade by Hollywood. The plot might have elements of other horror movies such as Saw, The Ring and The Grudge but the movie has some twists unseen from the mentioned movie. Though I somewhat guessed what the ending might be, I was still surprised with the ending. This is a must see for horror fans.

The ghost of Jiwon, a former student of the school, was haunting the school but it was not her that’s doing the killing. The killing is done by her parents. It turns out that Jiwon was killed by Chang Wook and her father, the school security guard, killed the teacher in the end.
