The Other Boleyn Girl managed to compress 15 years of history into 115 minutes that engages the audiences. Historical scholars might not like the movie because of its inaccuracies but to the normal movie goers, I know that it felt so good.
The Boleyn girls gave astounding performances. Natalie Portman as Anne Boleyn was captivating. It is not only King Henry VIII (Eric Bana) that was seduced by her but the audience as well. Scarlett Johansson as Mary Boleyn is somewhat subdued but that’s how her character is supposed to be.

I would have done the same for Natalie Portman, I mean Anne. The Other Boleyn Girl might not be realistic and true to history but was interesting enough for me. I highly recommend this, not to history buffs, but to anyone who enjoys movies for what it is.

There’s not much to spoil here. Anne was beheaded and her daughter, Elizabeth, became queen years after her mother’s death.
