Boys Do Not Cry Sometimes

Boys Do Not Cry takes place right after the Korean War. It’s the story of two friends who stuck with each other through all the obstacles they’ve encounter. Lee Wan (Jong Du) and Song Chang Ui (Tae Ho) played the two main characters that treated each other as brothers, not just friends.

All throughout the movie I kept guessing where the story is going. The story is totally unpredictable and you don’t know how it will end. I thought that there were scenes that was unnecessary and made the movie’s pace go slow. But the performances of the actors made up for this small imperfection.

Boys Do Not Cry showed how it’s like to survive when Korea was still rebuilding after the war. It was a dog eat dog world during those times. I don’t know if this movie stayed true with history or not, but all of us can learn a thing or two about hope through this movie.
