Obviously Sex and the City was not made for me. Its target viewer is the 50 year old stay at home mom wishing for a less boring life. Ops I could have made a lot of enemies with that statement. I find Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Samantha (Kim Cattrall), Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) too immature and I know that most women are not like that at all. The four protagonists overreact on issues that tend to make the situation far worse than it really is.
I could endure watching chick flicks but not Sex and the City I had to watch it in two sitting. My first session lasted for just 30 minutes and then I made myself finish the movie while I was installing WoTLK. It was too melodramatic, not funny and predictable. If you haven’t watched Sex and the City: The Movie then you’re lucky.
I knew right from the start that Sex and the City is something I would not enjoy. I’m more of an Entourage guy. I want to hear from fans of the series. Did you enjoy the movie? Or did you wish it was not made at all?
Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker): Some labels are best left in the closet.
They should have hidden this movie in the closet as well.
*Spoiler*
Carrie married Big.

same goes for me, that’s why i didn’t even try to watch it.. but i think many would beg to disagree..

Well, from *this* chics perspective, I agree 100%! Of course, I don’t have the foggiest idea of what that kind of life is like since I became a mom at 21 and am now married and have another child. Seems to me they are their own worst enemies and get into their own way of happiness from the few episodes of it I caught. I never understood what the hell all my girlfriends saw in that show. I sure as hell ain’t interested in the movie.

It’s good to read that a girl agreed with me on this one
I’m with you. I am not remotely the right demographic for this movie (or the series). However, I saw a few minutes of the series anyway, and while it had it’s funny times, the characters generally grated on me. I have little to no interest in seeing the movie.

Fluff. The series is fluff. I didn’t even consider watching the movie.

I have never watched the show and I can’t imagine wanting to watch the movie. But I am sure there were people out there who felt the same about Firefly and Serenity

I was a fan of the series first 2-3 seasons and then I signed off. Nuff said… The movie was taking it too far…

Yeah, I’m a girl and I completely agree. I watch the show occasionally, although I don’t know why, because it really gets on my nerves. (Carrie is kind of a ho and uses way too many puns.) So I guess I got bored one day and watched the movie. (Thankfully I watched a bootleg version from the internet, so I didn’t pay money for it) I can’t believe I watched the whole thing all the way through. It was not funny or even entertaining. Nothing but 4 women bitching and moaning about their miserable lives. Also, I thought it was stupid that the audience is expected to root for Big and Carrie to get back together, because I saw him as a douchebag.
I heard they’re thinking about making a sequel. Suffice to say I won’t be seeing that one!
Never watched the series and never gonna watch the movie either. I never find Sex and the City interesting at the first place. Nuff said!
