I got a chance to chat with Keith Webb, creator of Go! Go! Kokopolo! for NintendoNonstop. It was due to something I said in a previous article in NintendoNonstop.
Anyway, Go! Go! Kokopolo! is a Nintendo DS game that follows the adventure of the wild cat Kokopolo with a slightly hyperactive temper. When his peaceful slumber is disturbed, he embarks on a mission to play pranks and cause comic mischief to those responsible.
When asked why he chose the DS over the Wii, he replied, “Developed for DS purely as a great fan of pixel and sprite artwork. The game is also designed to be purely “pick up and play” and played in short bursts. Thus perfect for handhelds.”
Keith Webb must be one of the nicest persons in the gaming industry today. When I asked him about casual gaming, he said, “Love casual gaming. Great way of getting more people involved. Though also a great fan of more hardcore, old-school, retro games. I think there is room in the market for both.”
My thoughts exactly. Thanks again Keith for your time.
